Is It Time to Upgrade Your Undergarments?

Hey sis, let’s talk about it. Is it time to get rid of those panties and bras?

I know, the longer you keep them the more comfortable they can be. Panties can be like that one snuggly blanket, sure you’ve had it for awhile and it’s accumulated those fuzzy beads but you love it!

So how is your status? Do you rotate panties and bras ever so often? Has it been a minute?

I know the other concern is price. It is true that the unmentionables have become very expensive. You will need to start researching on brands, boutiques and local stores to find what matches the budget and the body.

Why Is it Important to Upgrade?

I believe that your undergarments represent several things:

a way to indulge on yourself

an expression of beauty and comfort

and also because we spend a lot of time in them

When you spring clean you should visit that lingerie/undergarment drawer too. Don’t skip it!

Another thing…

Your body is changing. From weight to inches the body has fluctuated a little or a lot. Your undies need to compliment those changes. Don’t struggle by tugging, pulling and adjusting all day long.

The Signs are There Sis

Let’s run down the list

I know we’re all about liberation but, if you can’t make it in the front door good enough before ripping of that bra it may be time for a new one.

Your preferences may have changed. Hooks on bras may no longer suit you. Underwires may be a thing of the past. Boy shorts may suit your physique or the full briefs may be a better fit.

Go seamless. Think about the outfits you wear. If you need to avoid panty lines seamless may be for you.

If you sweat a lot consider cotton over nylon.

If you are prone to heavy periods (talk to your doctor) you may want to consider the reusable menstrual panties.

Your Undergarments Should

Move with you naturally

Be Breathable

Your Undergarments Should Not

Should not chaff your skin or itch

Should not restrict movement

Should not hurt

Replacing

There is no scientific ruling on this but the general rule of thumb ranges 6 months to a year.

If there are rips, tears and holes it is time to replace. I can hear some of you saying, “but those are the best ones!”. I’ll leave that to your discretion ladies.

There’s a lot to decide when shopping: where to shop, what brands to choose and what sizes work best.

Consult with a specialist. Most stores will have assistants who are well versed and may even provide measurements.

Whatever you decide make sure its a comfortable one.

Here’s to great panties and bras!
